Hello, I have one laying hen out of 7. She is a 20 week old wyandotte. She started to lay itty bitty eggs on 8/6, 8/9, 8/12, 8/13. She laid bigger one today that ended up being a double yolk. I had them out free ranging and I noticed she was all puffed out with no neck just standing so I started to get concerned she didn't look right and then she stood and laid another egg (no shell) and then she went back to normal and went about her business than a few minutes later she was just walking and had another shell less egg that broke as soon as it hit the ground. I am new to all of this and was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this or may know why she did this. She is also the same one that just goes around plucking feathers from her other flock mates, sometimes eats the feathers and most of the time just plucks a feather and moves on. I also ended up with one rooster who seems to fancy her the most so far. I attached pictures of all three eggs she laid today.

Very glitchy but hopefully that was the worst of it. Understandably the eggs that came later had shelling issues since they went through her system too quick for a proper shell to be formed.

The feather plucking is a separate issue. What do you feed the flock? What's your set up like as far as space and diversions?

They are in a 6x12 coop and run. I feed them Kalmbach henhouse reserve. I usually make ice fruit snacks, they have also done the hanging cabbage. Snacks are Kale, strawberries, apples, watermelon, cantelope, tomatoes, carrots. They free range for an hour or two each day, usually when i get home from work since it needs to be supervised, lots of hawks and other predators. They love free ranging in our garden. I've been told to feed them table scraps (leftover dinners from the night before) I haven't done that yet. I keep trying to give the grub terra but they want nothing to do with it.

That is a LOT of extras, and the feed isn't particularly high in protein (17%). You may be diluting down the protein so much that she's trying to get it from snacking on feathers.

Since the free ranging is limited they spend most of their time in the run, which is a very barren space in terms of enrichment. Giving them non food enrichment to alleviate boredom could help, as well as providing the other birds space to get away from her feather picking: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/a-cluttered-run.1323792/page-6#post-25037140
