In the Brooder
My girls are almost three weeks old and they have very much enjoyed strawberries. They like grapes but not nearly as much. Tonight we gave them the left over corn on the cob from my son's dinner. We have also tried banana, not a hit, mango, not a hit, and ricotta with crunched up cereal, not a hit. I try to give them one small treat a day. When I enter the room I say "Hi girls" in a high pitched voice. They all stop and look at me. Then as I place the dishes in the brooder I say "Here girls". Then I usually take a few pieces and hold them on my fingers. Six of our twelve consistently come over to check out what I have in my hand. Four of them have started standing on my hand and arm as a perch. I love this time with them. My boys and I are also trying to make sure to handle all of them for at least a few minutes each time we visit them. My girl, Claire, always comes over to me and often jumps into my palm. She loves to be held and take a nap. Here is a pic of her from earlier hanging out with me.
