We lost five of our chickens this morning to what I am assuming was a fox, bringing us down to five all together. Our chickens free range and I noticed a fox slip into our yard and immediately ran him off, only to discover three birds headless in the yard. I went to their coop to check on the rest and found two more missing and the rest scared to death. I am just really sad. These birds are our pets and like family members. I have raised them all from chicks and was coming up on a year next month of having them. RIP to my sweet Penny, Frida, Rufio, Opal, and Mable.

Sorry for your loss. One of dangers of free ranging. I have been free ranging them all my life and have seen foxes a couple of times in the area. Post pics of the birds if you have them, it's a nice way to remember them.

Frida- one of my cream legbars I lost. She was one of my best layers.
