Using ACV in Chicken Water Daily?

Good morning BYC!

I wanted to get everyone's advice and opinion on this.

I know that apple cider vinegar has health benefits for chickens, such as boosting their immune systems.
However, since I mainly provide my chickens water via a large nipple drinker, I only replace the water every 5-7 days.

Would a small amount of ACV in a 12 gallon waterer for them to drink daily be ok?

I heard it can help manage any algae problems as well.

I won't put acv in their only water supply unless I'm trying to address a health issue and it's temporary. All animals have a natural correct pH for their bodies and forcing it to be more acidic or more alkaline constantly can make them sick. If you want to offer acv daily, I'd give them two drinking sources. One with acv and one with plain, clean water.
