Oh, just wondering, do any of you guys know where I can buy Diatomaceus Earth anywhere in Utah close by? It's not the price of the DE that gets you, it's the freaking shipping price.
I'm just saying that because I don't explicitly have permission to give out his number. Don't want to refer someone only to find out later I can't buy DE because of someone else being mean.
Yeah, I totally get that. I was just making a joke.
I searched for DE on ksl.com and he has $40 50# bag ads listed with the same name and phone number, so I'm sure he doesn't mind you spreading the love.
I decided to change my user name from "thealtagirl". Sorry if it confuses anybody.
Marty,
If you minus the rabbits and horses, we are still zoned for 48 chickens, so it's probably not Sandy City proper.
Nope. Got them from Murray hatchery. Since we were so new to chickens we didn't know where to start and it didn't help that the Riverton IFA gave us faulty information about ordering chicks. Since my husband HAD to have Dominiques we decided to go with a hatchery. I guess this is the original chicken of the Salt Lake Valley since the pioneers brought them with them.... and they LOVE TO EAT everything. Literally. I'm glad to know that there is somebody local though, I'd rather spend my $$ in the local economy.
I've read this elsewhere on this forum that Ameracunas or EEs are skiddish, I find that strange since ours are some of the friendliest. It's our Golden Campine that's the most skiddish.
IMO. I think the Riverton IFA is sorely lacking in knowledge about chickens. They told me that there is no difference in mash and crumbles..."it's just wording"......they didn't know what DE is...well, actually, on of their people in the garden section told me to go to a swimming pool supply place and get their DE (WRONG)......I overheard one employee telling a customer about the RIR chicks that were definitely Red Sex Links.....I could go on. I figured out that I have to know before I go in what I want and not ask for their help.
hen-thusiast......Kristy carries a lot of different chicks. I'm sure she could get anything you wanted. I wish I could get more but in my area, just not possible
pacsman....are we still trying for a chickenstock? We could do a mini chickenstock just for this immediate area. My house might could be available depending on the number of people.
