Valentine's Day Hatch

Has anyone even dyed their chicks before? I did it once with 5 eggs, 3 hatched. They were sooo cute

You can use beet juice to.

Just use a small amount of beet juice canned not pickled and a toothbrush to brush it into the feathers. Rinse lightly and blow dry. It wears off pretty fast

Works on poodles too

This sounds as if you dye them while still in the egg???

Yes, you do it at 2 weeks, .5 cc of food dye. Have to poke a little hole and eject it under the membrane, then wax over the hole. I did green, blue, and orange, but I didn't take any pictures, I think. I sold 2 and kept one
The chick absorbs the dye when it makes its feathers, that's why you do it at 2 weeks. Some times the beak and leg scales are colored too, but they don't stay that way.
