This guy hatched a little over three weeks ago from Lisa's eggs. She's leaning towards Lemon Blue Barred but mentioned I should post him here and get some suggestions on his coloring. He's beautiful, whatever he is and is very friendly. You can't really tell from the pics, but he looks like he has blue eyeshadow peeking out from under the yellow right around his eyes.

I say wait and see what turns up as it grows up. What are it's parents? Some breeds will be semi bared as chicks and grow up solid colors. My guess is he will grow up a light blue. Maybe laced IF one of his parents are.

Ok, took some more pics over the weekend. I just think he's a gorgeous guy!!

With his two naked neck buddies. The black one makes a huge fuss if I take the guy in question out of the pen to play with.

Oh Ashley! He's gotten even prettier (and you've taught him to read

!!

He's from this 'lemon blue with the barring gene' Cochin and either a blue or black frizzled hen. Would have been awesome if he had frizzled.

Can you believe I STILL haven't hatched any chicks from him? I'll be setting some eggs asap now that I've seen what they might look like!

Hi! I keep coming back to look at your pics!
He's definitely blue and he's definitely showing barring.
If he is from a blue (SilkiexCochin) hen and he looks to have a bit of a crest, then he could be barred splash.
He's a lovely boy and I hope you can keep him.
Maybe when he has feathered out more, someone will be confident enough to 'give' him a color.
Thanks so much for sharing the pics.

Lisa
