What is fair selling price for Silkies?

I'm have already and will be hatching out tons of these little buggers.

I will be keeping them anywhere from 4months - 1 year then picking one or two and selling the rest as soon as the weather permits.

My question is...

Where should I sell the extras, and for how much?

I want to sell them here, but I'm not sure if there is any business for birds here. Eggs yes, but I haven't seen many birds sold here. But maybe if I just listed them as buy it nows instead of auctions?

Also, what is a fair price. For a pair? Started birds that are unknown gender? Hens?

I will have White, Blue, Splash, Porcelain silkies.

All are nice birds, from George M, Broody Brodello, Hattrick, Harvest Breeze, Sunshine Silkie, Cush N Tush, Bobby Porto lines.

I won't say they are show quailty because I've never shown them. But most of their parents were show birds, and I would show them if I had the chance, and I think I would do well.

All of dark combs, nice spaced toes.

I have no clue on the market for these guys. I know what I've paid for them... But I just can't see others paying that price. lol

That is like asking "how long is a piece of string?" It just depends. Silkies are very popular in some areas and in others you can hardly give them away. In my area average nice quality may go for $20 per hen or $10 per chick.

Let me know what you want to sell I need all the black females I can get. I could use some whites too. They sell very well at waterloo ,also at shows there is another one coming up at highland in june.
