What wold I get if I crossed a Buckeye rooster with a blue Jersey Giant hen??

I'm not sure on the exact genetics of Buckeyes but assuming they're red in similar genetics like a RIR then with a blue JG, you should get 50% black chicks, 50% blue chicks and all chicks should have either a single or pea comb?

A lot is a subjective, the truth is that E/eWh Co/co+ will yield a Psudo Birchen phenotype. When you cross a self buff birds like Buff Orps to black that is when you can start mentioning a Lot.

Hmm, okay. I guess you’re right. My Buckeye Ancona cross has very little leakage so far.

x2 while there are some exceptions, crossbred birds often have poorer carcasses than their purebred counterparts. Purebred birds are bred to increase the quantity of fast growing and good fleshing genes. Crossing them will hide any of the recessive genes and reduce the quantitive traits. Also Jersey Giants tend to grow slowly, which is how they get to their impressive size.
Nonetheless, I would still eat them, since they couldn't be any worse than the Ancona cockerels I eat.
