I don't know about Black Copper but it should only be to cape on the Wheaton

I like your keeper roo, too... Am I seeing right that the copper on their hackles on the front of their chest doesn't go down as far as I have seen in some FBCM roos?? Just wondering if I am looking at it correctly..

The copper should not extend down to the chest on BCMs or Wheatens. What you may be seeing in those roos, is cases of being over colored, or on the BCMs they are allowed like 10% of copper spotting on the breast. You don't see too many of the spotted breasts here in the states, but if you go to the French Marans site, they seem to have a lot more birds with this coloring. http://marans.eu/accueila.htm#LA MARANS

I got what Don was meaning! What a beauty there, Randy!! I just love those open tails and big butted girls of yours! Keep posting, if any is quiet, it's becaused they are awestruck! I noticed Miss Wheatie Pie watching one of my BCM hens laying today and kind of checking out the nest box. I can't wait to see her first egg! It won't be long now.
