Good videos, and good for him for getting into that. It's the way of the world now unfortunately, too many kids out there want their info in a video instead of the old fashioned way (as if anything involving the internet is in any way "old fashioned"). And he's got some very relevant info, I hope he keeps at it!
I moved every one outside today.... they are sure the world has tilted off its axis.... I weighed the pen A chicks again as before... The first pic is 8 weeks old tomorrow....
They grow fast! My mom likes the idea of putting some cx under a broody, and if l can convince her to get some, then l would love to try doing a breeding program. l find this type of challenge very fun and interesting.
The chicks have adjusted to the outside pens pretty well for the first day. The dog walk'n under them still freaks them out completely, but all in all, they are do'n well... I have a hatch go'n now and need to clean a brooder to start over again....
I recently started supplementing their feed with straight protein and have found their feathering to be faster and more complete. My first spring group of the year without protein boosting had a notable amount of feather picking. There are 78 chicks in my brooders and I don't see ANY feather picking and eating - that's a first.
What are you feeding FD? What protein content are you using?
