For those who read previously we were looking at buying a house with 20 acres on it with the hope of settling down and having ourselves a little homestead. The guy had told us we could start getting paperwork done and we would be able to move in in june. All of a sudden he stopped awnsering our calls and finally when I got him on the phone he told me he had sold the house to his son(He later told my mother it would only be for three years and we could buy it then if we still want to. After the fiasco I was devestated. We really had our heart set on this house. I posted on facebook about it and a minute later my old riding instructor Jokingly posted that I could have her farm but it wasnt where I wanted it. we started talking and I realised it was the farm where I used to take riding lessons. A few months later. I am happilly living here and still cant really believe Im here. ive secured a work from home job. Hubby works in a kitchen nearby. We have two horses and are boarding two others and we have chickens almost old enough to lay and more chicks growing as well as two turkey chicks. Were well on our way to our goal of a homestead

When we first moved in the previous tennant left the place in quite a mess. So weve been cleaning a lot and its slowly looking great.

This is the area we are planning on turning into the coop. Its the new area of the barn. You can see where my hay is over there that is going to be oppenned up as well as the other wall in the back to this whole half of the barn is going to be used once weve boarded up the open wall connected to the indoor riding arena(Almost done). Id really appreaciate tips on where to put things like the roosts etc Were going to use the deep litter method. Were going to have to close off the hay loft so the turkeys dont end up in the boats in winter(The riding arena is used to store boats in winter and the hay loft has direct access to it)
