I love that sliding door! I am thinking now to add such a door to my duck-house, combined with a motor, so i can open it in the morning without leaving the house. Maybe combine it with a micro-controller and connect it to the internet, so i can let the ducks out from my vacation spot... View attachment 1576934
Great write-up and photos of a great coop/run build!
This was a wonderfully detailed article on repurposing an existing building. A LOT of thought went into it's design and construction.
I find it extremely useful when people include their failures and explain why they failed and how they rectified them so others may learn without having to make the same mistakes.
I just love this coop!!
Enjoyed your story of your coop. Very Nice coop.
I'm trying to plan out a coop and this article is wonderful.
What a nice job!
I like it; a lot!
One of my favorite parts, surprisingly, is the nest box arrangement.
Also, I see you've have plenty of practice with conduit & a pipe bender. I tried it for the first time with a chicken tractor. Such a disaster I used PVC instead. Don't like that, either; will replace it with cattle panels when I get the chance.

Wanna come duplicate your setup here? :bow

Not that I really care, but if you liked it so much why only one star?
Great job on your coop! This is going to be my inspiration when I add even more birds to the flock...
I find myself coming to aart's coop page quite a bit. There are so many clever ideas and tweaks in her design. It's my "go-to" page. The details and explanations are absolutely wonderful! Thanks @aart!
Very impressive - and thank you SO much for taking the time to post all the photo's, drawings, and design notes. You've given me some great ideas on how to improve and continue to design my own space for chickens.
