I have raised chickens since i was a child around 35 years ago. i believe i was 6 when i got my 1st chickens mostly barnyard egg layers for consumption.. for the most part RIR's or Leghorns. i decided last year to go full time into the Chicken, Pheasant and Quail business . here are a couple from last years hatch of americaunas.. i have english jubilee orp's from last years hatch also that i cant keep up with orders on lol , SLO's, SLW's biddys from show quality birds and now have Ayam Cemani in the incubator , Red Golden, Lady Amherst and Ringneck Pheasant along with valley quail .. it doesn't take long to invest Thousands of dollars into this Hobby. it is a good source of income and can Sustain you very well. but be prepared to work and get heart broken at times when one doesn't make it . tired of fooling with the small styrofoam incubators i have now embellished myself to build a cabinet incubator . ordered the incukit and will take pics and upload them in a few days fro anyone interested in building there own . i spent 2 hours last night building the basic cabinet . today i will insulate and build my outer walls . when i called 2 of the biggest Incubator builders yesterday and figured i was gonna have to spend at least $800 to get a good cabinet style i told myself . I said Self, you can build one for a 3rd of what they will charge you . so all in all i will have right at $300 invested in a bator that will be better built and insulated than the $800 ones as i am using 1 inch board insulation . will update with pics, prices and dimensions as i go for anyone interested in building there own and saving $500+ ...
