That’s what it’s about with almost any farm animal (or any domesticated animal) I can think of… confident (never cruel) dominance and leadership. Only one of you can be at the top of the pecking order / pack / herd / flock. For safety and good management and health, I must be the leader. Each animal has its own behaviors and language. Horses have theirs, dogs, donkeys, goats, etc. This is the best thing I’ve ever read about roosters!
