In my experience, there are good and bad roosters in every breed. One thing I have found out, cockerels that are raised with the flock (with adult birds) from puberty on are generally better tempered birds. Less likely to outright attack people. The reason for this is the older birds will discipline them if they step out of line or try mating by force. My worst roosters were raised in a flock of same age mates. Even 2-3 older hens seems to even out the raging testosterone levels of the cockerels because they teach them manners.
