So, I used these instructions to build a coop last month. BOY HOWDY did I overestimate my abilities! But I learned a ton and got to buy a kreg tool and now our chickens have a lovely home. I wanted a "modular" coop because I live on the gulf coast and hurricanes are a reality for us. It takes 4 adults to life the roof off, but it can be done and the rest is easy to take apart. I used the corrugated Ondura panels for roofing. The lumber estimates were quite accurate, mostly I had 1x3s left over since I skipped most of the trimming-out and made simpler doors (aka I completely ran out of steam and installed leftover hardware cloth panels from old coops over the openings). I planned to put an automatic coop door on the side, but there wasn't enough clearance so I had to make it work on the big doors. Here's a picture of it in the rain today. Hoping to finally paint it next week. All the bare ground is where are old store-bought falling apart coops sat.
