As usual, Perris expertly combines experience, observation, and supplemental research in this investigative snapshot of broodiness in hens. A great write up for both the experienced and otherwise, I enjoyed the photos, practical examples, and question/answer format in determining broody effectiveness from hatch to sustainability!

This is great. Comprehensive, informative, humorous, and lots of great visuals that cover broody from start to finish. Favorite quotes would include "Mommy Dearest" references and something about neighbors forming a lynch mob 🤣

Mommy Dearest was a kind term for that basket case.

Incredibly creative and fun article to liven up the important topic of ventilation education. A must-read for every chicken owner!
Clearly, a skirted chicken is the obvious choice for presenting unbiased and factual information!

:D Advice from the only breed I have that's smart enough to fly back into a pen she flew out of.
Wish I had read more articles like this one prior to owning my first roo! Very helpful information from an obviously experienced source that aids in understanding and avoiding common behavior problems - thank you for sharing the wisdom!
