We are still in the process of finishing our chicken coop. When complete it will have a metal brown roof. Hardware cloth around the run. Custom windows have been ordered. An automatic chicken door opener will be installed on the door into the run. Electricity will be ran to the house as well.
Hardware cloth is 18" in the ground and concrete is poured on top of it. Concrete is around the entire coop and run. We filled in the run with sand. We've already purchased the hardware cloth that will enclose the run. I've been keeping track of the cost and so far including cement, lumber, paint, hardware cloth, automatic chicken door and 1/2 down on the windows we have spend 2834.00. My husband is doing all the work himself. Bless his heart. I helped put the run walls up. The main house walls were to heavy for me so our grandson came over to help. When completed I will show the final results. I'm so excited. My husband will be happy to have them out of his barn/shop area.
