Nicely presented, well organized, concise and easy to understand. Good tips on general chicken care.

Just to emphasize one of the points made on stress; some of which cannot be avoided such as construction of a new house 50 feet in front of yours. This stopped egg production in our production breed as they couldn't get away from the noise and were clearly stressed out. Once the noise took a hiatus for a day, the egg production resumed. Stress cannot be over stated. Thanks for mentioning it but sometimes when we have no control, anticipate seeing the stress affect in egg production. Frustrating, but a definite reality.
This article is a very good resource for all poultry owners. Very informative and concise.

A much-needed article, as I see this question get asked frequently in the forums. Great overview of why it happens and what you can do to help your layer get back on track. I, personally, would not eat them, only because the soft shells tend to get filthy, but to each their own! 😄
