My husband is a custom home builder in Austin Texas and he had this coop built for my birthday. Although I knew he was building me a coop connected to our barn, I had no idea what the design was going to be. Each day as it was being built, I would watch as this beautiful coop of my dreams was unfolding before my eyes. It is such a happy place for my sweet little chickens and me! I love the sweet clucking sounds they make when they see me walking up the path to let them out in the morning. I could happily spend my entire day (and have before) between cleaning the coop, playing with the chickens and tending to the small garden attached. I have 12 very happy hens and 1 feisty little Japanese bantam roo that we call Chicken Man. I don't just "like" chickens... I LOVE CHICKENS!! They are without a doubt the most interesting creatures I have ever had the pleasure to know. They have taught me patience, compassion and how to keep my sense of humor! I am so happy to be a part of BYC and be a part of a community that truly respects these amazing birds.
