Thanks everyone. I have 5 of the silver grey cockerals growing out, and they are like living yard art against the green grass. The pullets that are coming in to lay have bright red combs, and a couple are filling into fat little hens laying tiny pullet eggs. I sort of like that they lay white eggs
Congratulations, we've chosen one of your chicken pics for the Chicken Picture Of the Week. Thanks for posting your chickens to our "My Chickens" pages! You can find more info about our POW here: BYC POW process
They are beautiful! I have a 1 yr old Silver Gray Dorking hen - Grace - and she is the sweetest big ole girl ever. In fact, I cannot herd her anywhere as she just squats down and I have to pick her up and place her in the desired location.
Thanks everyone. There are a ton more pics on the website, and I wrote about a really cute solo Dorking chick and his new Silkie friends. Feel free to take a look and join if you like the stories www.kelleycreekfarms.com
Donnavee -- my hens all squat when I reach toward them also. Such a nice breed to have around the yard! And beautiful to boot. I can't wait till mine become the "small dog" size they are known for.
