This is our 4.5 month old Barred Rock hen named Zebra with her best friend, our 7 year old son, William. Zebra comes running when William is around. We got Zebra (and 3 other hens) from a local feed store through Murray McMurray Hatchery. They came to live as part of our family on Valentin'e Day when they were just a few days old. William is kind of shy with people but he really loves animals, especially his chickens. Zebra likes to snuggle with William so we thought it fitting to do a selfie of them so people could see what fun pets chickens can make for families.
