We are brand new to the chicken world and are very excited to have our little girls (or chicken nuggets, as my husband lovingly calls them!)

We knew we wanted only three chicken, so our coop is small. We want to expand the run after we figure out what we are doing!

We started with a coop we purchased online. It's only about 3x4ish.

We cleared the land, laid wire on the ground, covered it with dirt and laid pavers for the run. Molly is handsomely supervising.

Next we attached the coop to the run and placed it on the pavers.

Walls going up. The run is about 3x6x8.

Wire going up...

Completed with the door, and fortified with wire. We bent the ground wire up and attached it to the walls to deter the digging critters. We think it's a pretty strong fortress, but I guess only time will tell!

We are using the nipple waterer and they immediately caught on! Sand on the bottom because we read it is easy clean up.

Our chicken nuggets on their first day!

I should also mention that we will free range our birds when we are home. They won't be in the coop all the time.
