Newest picture are going up here from now on.
This 68 oz monster is part of my large silkie project. He's a mutation that happened in my normal flock. Normal silkie rooster size is 36 oz. 32 oz for a hen. I have two hens that are 47 oz and 50 oz as well.
Free range eggs
Egg sizes from left to right. Bantam pullet egg, peewee, small, medium, large, extra large, jumbo.
Technically anything under 42 grams is a peewee but that's a lot of sizes under
I've taken quite a few pictures over the years of my birds. So I'm putting a few of my favorites here. Mostly I have partridge silkies and wheaten ameraucanas. There is also the mixed hatchery layer flock as well as a few white silkies.
The Partridge Family
It's a partridge in a pear tree.
Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucana
Blue wheaten rooster
6 year old blue wheaten hen
Mixed flock, white silkies, and Ashes the silkie supermodel. (He poses)
Hatchery barred rock. She was even more naked than this picture looks. The worst molt I've had here.
Hatchery light brahma
Easter Egger and Wheaten Ameraucana
The scary thing is that all 6 of these hens are broody and wouldn't leave the nest boxes. I had to put up more.
Silver ameraucana hen
Silver ameraucana rooster
Pullets. Front is an easter egger (Hatchery EE x Wheaten ameraucana) and rear is a wheaten ameraucana
My favorite egg picture
Third eyelid blink on a hatchery New Hampshire. They always look like zombie chickens when they do that.
This is why you should keep your rooster's spurs short. Poor Duke got caught on the fence when another rooster attacked him and his spur got pulled it off. He was hanging by the other one. Thankfully the chicken police (my aussie mix) let me know and rushed over and stopped the fight. Duke was the sweetest rooster, hence why I never bothered with his spurs.
Partridge silkie pullet from positive sex identification.
