Right now I am living in the middle of Tennessee with my hubby and my 4 sons (ages 4, 2, and 1 year old twins). And I have come to the conclusion that my mom had it better growing up than my children do. My grandparents grew their own food so, there wasn't the need to read the fine print to make sure that there isn't any high fructose corn syrup or caramel color and all the other additives and preservatives that are slowly turning us into living mummies. So I have decided to plant a garden and get some chickens and go from there.
Right now I am in the planning stages and I hope to have this all figured out by spring. The problem... well... I'm a little over loaded with information. I cannot figure out 1. what kind of chickens to get 2. what kind out coop would be best and 3. how many I should have. Especially since I can easily go through 5 dozen eggs in a two week period.
The one thing that I am sure of at this point is that I have plenty of room...
This is the view of my backyard from an upstairs window.
Half way up the hill.
The top of the hill.
So, does anyone have any ideas because I'm stumped...
