I thought it would be fun to show off all of my roos. We really like bantams, but most of the places I've boughgt from sell only straight run, so we've ended up with a lot of roosters.
Past roos

Jupiter- Australorp Cross Mercury & Aeolus- Sebrights Cupid- Bantam Cochin/Brahma Aquilon- Bantam Cochin/Cornish

Mars- Bantam Cochin/Brahma Janus- Coocoo Maran Neptune- Cochin

Pierre - Houdan

Astro - Black Australorp. The Jersey Giant we got ended up being a roo, so we got him a replacement. Unfortunately the store put to black australorps right next to the jersey giants, and since in the past, they'd split up large groups of chicks, we grabbed from the unlabeled australorps. And he ended up being a roo too. He was very sweet though.

Midas - Golden Sebright.

Goldie - Golden Sebright

Padfoot - We hatched him and his brothers. He's named after Sirius Black's nickname, and because he has nicely feathered feet.

Prongs & Moony - Bantam Black Spanish/Brahma. After we named Padfoot, it seemed that his brothers needed to almost complete the set.

Gandalf - Grey Japanese

Anzotic - Bantam Silver Duckwing Old English Game

Wander - d'Anver. He is the greatest. He always comes straight to the door when we get near the coop, and follows us around inside.

Bracken - d'Anver

Whisper - Bantam White Faced Black Spanish.

Mr. Comb - Bantam White Faced Black Spanish. As his name implies, the first thing we noticed when he hatched was his large comb.

Sylvester, & Starbright - Silver Sebrights. We picked out 3 Sebrights last year, and 1 was a girl. We picked out 5 Sebrights this year and 1 was a girl. Maybe if we just pick out 1 sebright, it will be a girl? The last picture is of older Sebright hen Daisy fighting Starbright through the fence.

Pluto - Bantam White Faced Black Spanish - The oldest of our current roos. we kept him after we got him last year, to breed with. All his kids were guys. :'(

Jo - Jersey Giant. Thankfully he isn't aggressive.

Now for our current roosters

Cormac - white laced red bantam Cornish

Huginn- Black Sumatra. Named after one of Odin's ravens. He is easily the sweetest cock we have. Unfortunately the other cockerels take advantage of that, so he is currently regrowing his tail.

Starhawk - Houdan. I accidentally injured his face when he was a chick, so we separated him from the others his age. Then we ended up putting the chicks we hatched with him, and he helped raise all of them as guys.

Kai - Golden Phoenix. I had a friend who really wanted phoenixes, but the day they came in, she would be out of town. So I picked them up for her and kept them until she had her brooder ready (about a week). She ended up with 3 roos and 1 pullet. One of the roos was REALLY aggressive (you can guess what happened to him), and the other two were nice. She only wanted one, and because I had a lot of chickens and room, we swapped her roo for one of my houdan hens.
