We are in the process of building the popular Chez Poulet coop by Heather Bullard. We have made a few minor changes, but kept pretty much everything the same as the plans. We changed the height to be a foot taller. My husband is 6'-2" and I didn't want him to have to stoop to enter the run. We also added doors on both sides of the coop instead of just one side. We will be doing the deep litter method, so we raised the chicken door 12" from the bottom of the coop. Utah summers can get pretty warm, so I wanted as much ventilation as possible. We added more ventilation on the side of the coop that is normally a solid wall. There is also ventilation all the way around the top of the coop where the trusses meet the walls of the coop and run. I think we made the roof above the nesting boxes a little too steep. I think it's going to be a little tricky installing the drip edge for the roofing with such a sharp angle. I also wish we would have made the storage area a little bit deeper to accommodate bags of pine shavings. Other than those two things, I think we are going to be pretty happy with the end result.
