Beautiful story. Have you considered becoming a professional photographer? I'm sorry about all the things that happened to your animals. Have a great day! :frow

I just popped her in! I sat out there for a bit, and she immediately took to the rooster (She never leaves his side) There was a bit of pecking order pecks but that was it. Maybe I just got lucky?

I think she was 3 months. But she would have been tiny.

I have one chick. She is 3 days old. A partridge silkie. The post office was 4 days late w my eggs and only two survived the harsh handling. Out of 14. So two hatched. But one was born very small and was blind and would not eat, had splayed legs as well. It died a day ago. So pip is left alone now. She cuddles under my chin. Calls for me and has made me her mum. It's hard as she freaks out when I put her in her broader alone. Last spring I integrated 5 other silkie mixed chick's to a flock of 16 by putting them in a clear Tupperware large container with the lid a Lil bit off just outside the chicken fencing so they could see the chick's but couldn't hurt them. It was may so it was getting warmer and the snow was gone. I then brought it in the yard w the other flock and kept watch
All the 16 females would look in at them and peck and showed no aggressive behavior. So I waited til they had all their feathers at 16 weeks I put them in the Tupperware at night. Let them slowly integrate over a week's time. They never had any problems after they could run and fly away. They had their 5 silkie x flock inside the mixed lady flock. Turned out I had 4 roos and one pullet. The boys grew and the rooster we had tried to kill them. So we put him in a pot and made soup. The flock was fine after. Then two roosters starred being harsh w the ladies so we dropped down to two roosters. And everything is perfect. Now we have a new silkie for our partridge silkie rooster. I think God has a plan.. cuz we just got three eggs from our silkie lady and they are now in the incubator. So we.might have friends for our one lonely Lil house chick. I'm ok w that. She can stay in here all winter. It gets -40 here sometimes. She will be full grown when she goes out to the flock. I'm hoping I hatch out at least one chick so she will have a friend. God willing. Your not alone. It's hard having only one. I hope this helps. 🙏😇
