While converting a She Shed into a coop I decided to build an easy to clean poop table and roost with the nest box underneath.
I used heavy duty pocket screws by Kreg to assemble the frame.
The frame is 30" deep and 96" long.
I added some bracing and supports for the table top. The nest box is fastened to the two center boards.
I fastened some 1x6 boards around the perimeter with screws
into the 2x4's to contain the Sweet PDZ. Zoom in to see more detail.
The top is 1/2" MDF panel finished with polyurethane so it's very
smooth and easy to clean and protected from the less than solid poop.
Here is the completed poop table with roost and roll out nest box underneath.
The roost bar is fastened to the sides with 5 pocket screws... just to be sure.
A photo from one of the cameras in the coop at night.
Cleaning takes about 5 minutes each morning, I use the kitty litter scoop
with the metal drawer organizer to sift out all the smaller bits.
Then for my enjoyment I level the Sweet PDZ with a Japanese Rake I made.
BTW, it's not sand, it's horse stall refresher.
Enjoy
