My coop is a converted shed. I've had chickens for over 10 years.
I started with a mix of heritage breeds ... they are so pretty!
RIP: Russian Orloff (Phoenix), Silver Laced Wyandotte (Lacy), Golden Laced Wyandotte (Nugget), Black Cochin (Fancy-Pants 2), Splash Cochin (Fancy-Pants 1), Black Amaricana (Miss Mamba), Bantam Partridge Cochin (Camilla).
Now I have the standard browns for maximum egg production. Princes Laya, Cinnamon, Terra-dactyl, Mable, Bitty, Amelia, Tinsley, Cuddles.
RIP: Peaches, Prickles
In Feb 2024 I order some quail hatching eggs and now have 8 quail. The hatch was 50/50 boys and girls so now the plan is to work up to 5 to one (hens to roos). I built the hutch myself from ideas on the internet.
The adventure continues!
