Coop additions to help your flock through the summer!

A advice article for helping keep your flock cool in the summer!
Good tips on shade and the cool water. I've added ice cubes in my water before and it works good. I don't know about the sprinkler though. When chicken feathers are wet, they get heavy and will make the chickens hotter. It also makes it harder for them to regulate a steady body temperature. A sled filled with water works better as it allows them to cool off through their feet without getting their actual feathers wet.
Good ideas and tips for cooling chickens.

I've not thought of getting a mister, but I bet that would work with ours.

I appreciate that you stuck to the basics, because that's what matters most to chickens in summer: shade and cool (or not hot) water. The section on misters is a good idea, and I'm glad you made sure to mention that your chickens should have the OPTION to enter a misted area. Nice job on your first article!

A few good tips on keeping a flock more comfortable in hot weather. The sprinkler system tip is one I haven't often seen before.
