Welcome to Chicken RunHatchery, home of the Easter Egger Extraordinare !

I have raised chickens for most of my life. Starting with two white roosters that I won at the fair and a little hen with chicks that my grandmother gave me. They were my first layers of blue and green eggs. I kept chickens when I farmed in West Virginia. They were Rhode Island Reds.
My intention now is to have a flock of medium sized, feed efficient Easter Egger hens that lay a large egg in an assortment of colors; blue, olive, green, brown, cream and pink. I am going to market these hatching eggs as
"The Rainbow Barnyard Assortment".

At this time I have for sale:
straight run chicks $3
pullets $10
started hens and laying hens $12
cockerels - green egg gene $10
roosters - blue egg gene $15
I will ship fully feathered birds, the purchaser pays for shipping.
I also offer hatching eggs for $15 per dozen postage paid, $7 picked up.
I am using a purebred, black, clean faced, rump-less Araucana rooster on brown egg laying hens and a Cuckoo Maran Rooster on my Easter Egger hens to get olive eggers.
This spring, I will offer hatching eggs from a variety of hens crossed with my Araucana rooster. The resulting pullets will be considered Easter Egger hens. The breeds I will be using are - Barred rocks, Easter Eggers, Production Reds, White Leghorns, Silver Laced Wyandottes and Cuckoo Marans.
