Goodbye Mr. Chips

What an awesome, but very sad story about Mr. Chips and his flock mates. A fitting tribute to an awesome boy! He had a great but all too short of a life... We have not lost any birds to predators but have from disease and illnesses. It just never gets any easier to lose one if these very special birds. 😢
A beautiful tribute to a beautiful boy; great stories written with gentle, loving humor and empathy for everyone there. Great pictures of his life and interactions to illustrate - with video too (so nice that you have sound with that)! I am so very sorry his journey with you ended.
What a lovely tribute! If I lived anywhere even somewhat close I'd offer you one of my boys in a heartbeat (Tundra's a brat at the moment, though). Your questions about roos (and chicks) have been thought provoking, making me stop and think about why my birds do something and see chick development in new ways.:hugsThank you for the privilege of seeing them grow with you. I'm deeply saddened that Mr. Chips life was cut so short.
What a beautiful story! I'm so sorry you lost this amazing creature. It's never easy to lose a beloved pet, but it's especially hard to lose them young
What a beautiful tribute to a wonderful member of your flock.
I am so sorry to hear about Mr Chips. He was a special boy :hugs
It's heartbreaking when a predator comes around, especially a favorite.
Prayers for comfort 🙏 :hugs
There is just something about watching cockerels grow up.
A sad and lovely story well told.
This is one of the best-written stories here. I'm going to miss hearing about him :(.
:hugs :hugs :hugs
Having followed along and encouraged the journey with Mr. Chips, this was a bittersweet read. He was shaping up to be a wonderful young man. My heart broke with you when you posted about his loss.
He died protecting his sweet love, which is honorable and brave.
