(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We are new to this and seem to be doing ok, but have a few questions, of course.
We received the Jersey Giant aka "Awesome" about two and a half weeks ago, I guess. She was a few days old and we matched her with a 1 day old Silk Bantom, but the Silkie died. :-( We replaced her the next day and she died as well. We coddled Awesome and she became VERY attached to us within a days time. She was flying and insisted on cuddling with us all of the time.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 4 chicks, listed above.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Listed above.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Google Search. The website was very helpful in many areas, mostly it helped us learn details about each breed.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
We are new home owners who enjoy home renovations. We are building a large outdoor home for the chickens as well as building our first garden.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Well, we have a pet bunny rabbit, Dominic. He's a little over 4 years old and he's super spoiled thanks to me.
We hope that he and the chicks get along as a family when the girls are old enough to meet him. We are both in commercial real estate. We really just have questions about the chickens and feel this website could help us with a lot of the concerns we will surely encounter.
