This looks like a nice job using a shed kit as the basis. I like that the builder included notes of what he would do differently with the next coop.
I don't think I've seen a coop from a pre-fab shed kit. I can see the attraction to this and, as you say, maybe it's easier to design and build your own. But this looks just fine.
