Hey there. I am just getting back into raising chickens. I was on a farm and we had chickens. Ireally missed it. I am down to 7 assorted brown layers and a feisty rooster(we call him Barney). I got the chickens from a neighbor and he sold me old hens. I started out with 12 and in a year 5 have died due to old age. I need to restock my flock. I live in Almost Heaven central WV with my husband, son, dog and 3 cats. I had forgotten alot of things about raising chickens, coops and the such, but I have been checking online to get back up to speed. I found out that a discarded pet carrier makes a wonderful nest. My chickens will use it before they go to the box nests that I built.
