Built these 12 nesting boxes into my barn for easy egg access and to protect from predators... it does have a slanted top, entry ledges & currently blocked off because my girls aren’t laying yet. Not currently totally finished but close.

This coop is mostly made from recycled materials including fencing left by previous homeowner, pallets, bartered windows & composted dirt...

The perimeter is covered by 2/3 layers of different fencing and extends out 2’ underground to prevent digging... the north or back side fencing goes down underground 2’ and is cemented in addition to the extended 2’ digging apron...

Windows are fenced in, top is totally either fenced or has a metal section to channel water away...west side garden area now has secondary chicken wire overlapping the original predator fencing... including a composting corner that the chickens can sorta access by sticking heads through...

There’s an outdoor roosting area in addition to the indoor roost, sandbox bathing, Two green boxes, hanging maggot bucket, hanging hook for corn or cabbage...

Elevated coop for extra play space and to run every time a plane goes by because they’re chicken I guess... half the coop run is always dry and after gardening season they will have free run at much more protected space... I cannot “free range” my girls because of a barrage of predators including: coons, coyotes, rats, possums, foxes, bald eagles, hawks, owls... speaking of predators ~ I do have a motorized automatic coop door that hasn’t been installed yet... the platform shows where it’s intended to be...

I’ll continue to share photos as things progress...
