WIP

My flock is just that; a motley little crew of mismatch chickens from breeders and hatcheries alike. It started with an afternoon at the auction, seeking chickens for my grandfather, and turned into me bringing home a trio of beautiful birds to start my own flock with (not to mention three birds for my grandfather).

At the head of my flock is the Royal Family...

The King

Name: Tarzan
Gender: Rooster
Born: 2012 Hatch (month unknown, bought May 2012)
Breed: Red Jungle Fowl

Tarzan is protective of his girls but has never made a move to harm me even when I'd weasel a hand in under his girls when they're sitting. He's diligent, and ever since his queens have started sitting, he hardly ever leaves them alone and keeps a close eye on them. He's definitely wanting to see his bloodline continue.

His Queens

Names: Jane and Penny
Gender: Hens
Born: 2012 Hatch (month unknown, bought May 2012)
Breed: Red Jungle Fowl

The Hatchery Young'uns

I purchased ten mixed unsexed bantam chicks from a hatchery this summer, and ended up receiving quite a mix of critters. Alas, I must say RIP to the pair of Sebright chicks I received; I lost them both in the beginning of August 2012, both to my father's unruly, chicken-killing dog. So RIP Agate and Pyrite; you'll be dearly missed my girls. But the others are still alive and well and being total pests to me; I love them to death.

The Randos

On a whim I went out and bought some rather lovely chicks from a local lady; two of unknown mixed bantam breeding, and four Polish/Cochin cross chicks. They're quite lovely babies, especially the PolCos.
