Hiyas! I'm Katrina, or Revelle on the forums. Former country-dweller, I'm in a smaller town of the Quad-City area and gettin' ready to hatch me some chickens! Yee-haw! Going to start with a few silkies/sizzles from Miss Paganbird, and eventually try some Wyandottes! I'll try to put pictures of the eggs, the hatch, and of the little ones when they hatch!
02/12/10 - I got them today...!! Miss Paganbird sent seven sizzle silkie eggs, two Silver laced Wyandottes, and a Leghorn egg! I only paid for 6 silkies and an incubator! Much much love<3
02/27/10 - Higher update, so you don't have to scroll all the way down~ Rundown of the last 15 days - Leghorn Egg thrown out due to infertility/no development (did not crack open to check) - 2 Silver Laced Wyandotte Eggs thrown out due to quitting (Looked like both it stopped at Day 11/12, they stank) - 2 Sizzle Silkie Eggs were thrown, 1 with an exploded yolk and the other because late development/broken aircell? (Thrown on Day 10, looked like it was at Day 6/7 - Was in the warmer spots even)

03/01/10 - My boyfriend ordered me 5 Golden Laced Wyandottes and 5 Easter Eggers from MyPetChicken.com because I was feeling down about chicks. <3 Such a sweetie! They're supposed to be here when current chicks hatch.
04/15/10 - Wow! I haven't updated this since lockdown. 3 chicks hatched from Miss Paganbird, most casualties from being shrink wrapped. All 10 Chicks arrived from MPC all safe and sound, though I think 3 of my 'pullets' are actually roos! xD

Day 5 Candling // Camera can't take pictures of candled eggs, unfortunately. :( Oh well! The two Wyandotte eggs seem questionable on whether or not they'll develop or not, but the Leghorn was definitely a dud. At first I thought the silkie eggs all went bad, but it turns out they might actually be growing nicely! Thank you silkiechicken, for saying they're not dead. <3
Day 10 Candling // Kept 5 our of 7 Silkies, with one having a busted yolk and the other one a false death that ended in a real one. ): The rest, including wyandottes, seem to be developing incredibly fast
Day 15 Candling // Both SLW ended up quitters! No veining, and started to stink, so I tossed them. ): Couldn't bring myself to open em up and see how far they got. BUT!! The remaining Silkies are starting to tap their shell when they hear me!!! So excited til lock down!! Raised humidity because the hygrometer was at it's minimum. I hope I didn't add too much!!

Day 18 - Lockdown! // Started early (Night on Day 17) to raise humidity so I could check in the morning. Good thing, too! What I did last time did not work this time. (Last time I wetted two washcloths on Day 16/17 and humidity spiked to 70%+! Woah!) It's steady at 69% for the hatch. :)<3
