Sick and tired of pesky mosquitos? Try this trick!!

Here where I live the mosquitos are viscous in the spring! The baby mosquitos are the absolute worst though. They are so tiny and fly so fast it is almost impossible to catch them! After scouring the internet and trying all the tricks we found one that actually, truly works.

Like chicken eggs, mosquito eggs must incubate. Mother mosquitoes lay their eggs in puddles underneath the water. Then, they hatch and come out of the water and next thing you know you're all chewed up my these stupid bugs who only have a lifespan of 6 weeks!! If you put dish soap, bleach or shampoo it creates a film on the top of the puddle and prevents the baby mosquitoes from escaping their incubator so to speak. Be sure to stir whatever you put in the puddle to make sure you achieve full coverage. Then, enjoy a mostly mosquito free environment!
*Note*. It only takes a few drops of product per puddle. Also, consider where you are using these products. You may not want to use them in your garden space since after time it will pollute your ground.

I wonder if it really works.

It does...that's why I wrote the article. Did I say something that made you unsure?
Not sure I'd recommend dumping any of these products on the ground.

I understand. I tried to make it clear to only dump on places you are ok with contaminating. Thank you for your review!
There are some spelling and grammar issues with this article, and I would definitely recommend adding a warning about where/how you use these techniques. Adding these types of product to pools of standing water where pets and other wildlife can get into them could be dangerous or fatal.

We find sprinkling First Saturday Lime in the marsh next to a creek down the bank behind our house helps cut them down. It is not harmful to frogs, fish, etc., and kills mosquito larvae.

We also purchased "dunks" on Amazon and put half of one in a 5-gallon bucket half full of water, x 3 around our property. Females want to lay their eggs in water. They are attracted to these buckets, lay eggs, they die.

Also, we bought an additional bug zapper, so we now have two of them.

These are things we do to help reduce mosquitoes here.

Very interesting!! I will have to make that an addition to our mosquito control protocol 😂 ! Thanks for the comment and info:D

We have not only the normal little bar stewards but also the dreaded Tiger Mosquitoes and this year I have been on a real mission.
All animal water is changed daily,
Plant pots have saucers under them which are filled with sand rather than risk sitting water,
Watering cans are left empty,
Anywhere water sits after rain has been filled with sand,
Gravel is ontop of the soil on plant pots,
All gutters and drains have been cleared,
All watering system pipes have been either replaced or repaired and washers changed on lots of outdoor taps and anything attached to water butts.

It has been a HUGE improvement compared to last year.
