Great information, well thought out! I liked the information on temps to set and why. I also liked humidity option ideas. I'm currently trying to figure out the reasons for low hatch rate. I'm thinking humidity and fertility issues. The incubator I got was mediocre in price...the only downside would be not able to lower the humidity easily. It stays at a steady rate of 70-72%
Some great ideas...like use of paper towels. I'll be adding after taking turning tray out. It will help prevent eggs from rolling all over during first few hatch
Oh my gosh this is so helpful and so well written. It provides so much good and basic information and provides links for further elaboration! This is GREAT for beginners who are on their first hatch or great to just refer to!
So informative but now that I’ve read everything that could go wrong I am wondering how chicks ever hatch being brooded by a hen. We more often than not, have temps well over 104!
This article gives really great, and useful information, without making things confusing. I referenced this many times throughout my first hatching experience, and it helped me achieve a 100% hatch rate!
This is one of the most informative articles I have read. From how to calibrate a thermometer to the reasoning for lock down it is excellent. Thank you so much!
