The Chicken Experience

A wonderfully detailed build with lots of thoughtful touches. I am docking one star due to the use of heat lamps. A Sweeter Heater would be a safer alternative for over the roosts, and I am not comfortable using heat lamps around plastic bins (plastic can melt and off-gas). I do understand this is a 2012 article, and heat lamp alternatives were likely not as available as they are now. Overall, very well done and enjoyable to follow along with!
Overall, great job of providing the details on how this coop was built. This would have been a 5-star rating but for the use of a heat lamp in the coop.

This article is very well written, with well placed pictures for further explanation.
It's pretty cool that the run is right next to the horse paddock, as having a large animal there could potentially help deter predators!
The finished coop looks great, and if I'm being honest, I'm slightly jealous of it.
Well done!

This is a very well planned build. I don't think any stone has been left uncovered! Great pictures and great writeup.
This design is so well explained across this wonderfully informative coop page! I love it! The ventilation with the fan is a grand idea! The coop is very spacious and is easy to access! Great work!

Nice and roomy!! The only thing I would change Is get rid of all the heat lamps and make it so the bigger chickens cannot get to the brooding boxes. Thank you for sharing your coop with us!
