I have 6 EE's that are about 4-5 weeks old now.(3-5-12). They are the first chicks I hatched myself. I didn't get as good as a hatch as I wanted to. I started with 18 local eggs and only 9 hatched. It was my friends incubator and she kept opening it to check all the eggs(She had some too) at the end so the humidity didn't stay up and the rest that were wiggling in there eggs trying to pip ended up dying while I was at school.

I went to the feed store to get some more food and they had baby chicks so I got one of each. A black Australorp, a Buff Orpington, a Rhode Island Red, a Barred Rock and a White Leghorn. They are being kept separate from the EE's right now because of the size difference.

So now I have a total of 11 chicks. One of the EE's has developed a pink tinged comb so I am pretty sure he is a roo. All the new babies are supposed to be pullets. The RIR is my 5 year old daughters favorite. She named her Sally. She likes to fall asleep on my daughters lap. My almost 3 year old son likes the Leghorn the best but she likes to stretch her wings the most so he usually gets to hold the Barred Rock and the Australorp as they are less flighty.
