The Great Big Giant Marek's Disease FAQ

I echo the many great reviews on this article. I had a 3 year old hen become paralyzed in both legs and wings. I decided to give her a chance, and with vitamin supplements, a lot of tlc, and then some physiotherapy in a few months she fully recovered. I have since wondered if my flock has Marek's and are just asymptomatic. With the help of this exceptionally in-depth article, and the links to the other possible causes of symptoms, I am greatly reassured.

Excellent resource guide covering subtopics often ignored in the "What is Marek's?" kind of essay. Because she advises not to cull birds with Marek's, I also (having two survivors in my flock) would love an added subtopic about supporting survivors. For instance, I modified my chicken ramp for better traction... to help the again-active birds with their balance & leg coordination issues.

I am lucky to have not experienced Marek’s in any of my flocks, I appreciate the details and information. Definitely recommend to others.

My chicks sadly all passed away from mareks disease and I really want to get more Chickens but am very apprehensive about it because the virus could spread.
