I have personally witnessed how these chicks are treated. I have a bantam that was dying at the store. Fortunately, the store employee allowed me to rescue the little chick. She is now well and thriving very well. Big Bertha RK was going to dispose her they she thought she was dying. So i brought home and took care of her
Thats her 5 month layer.

Because of all the reasons you mentioned, it is forbidden to sell chicks in shops in the Netherlands. Its also forbidden to send chicks by mail.
Great if this animal abuse stops worldwide!

Some pictures of the awful keeping conditions would improve the article. Otherwise the article is fine but unfortunately it's unlikely to gain much traction due to peoples wants overriding the chicks needs.
