Water Cross - Waterer for Small Coop or Tractor

What an interesting design! It looks very unique and like it works well. I like the aquarium heater idea too. Article was easy to read and the list materials used was helpful.

An interesting setup. I don't understand the purpose of the cross, but it does seem to be a useful setup to save space in a tractor.

Two questions.
What is the purpose of making a cross instead of a straight pipe since the nipples are only at the end of the vertical pipe?
Wouldn't horizontal nipple help with the freezing and dripping issues?

Overall a great idea though.

Good way to keep the flock watered and not freeze up in cold weather
