I really like this idea, and what a space saver! I keep water in the coop because we’re in the desert and this would work perfectly tucked into a corner.

Nice article for a simple yet effective waterer. Is there a way to make it fillable from the top? I tend to make a mess when I "flip" waterers over! LOL. I also wondered if the black PVC would make the water hot in the summer, but then you mentioned Winter and I thought, well, maybe it will help keep it a tad warmer in the Winter so it may not be as likely to freeze. I guess it's 6 of one and a half dozen of the other.
I like the bungee cords. Seems like they would make it easy to remove to clean and refill. Have you had any problems with slime or algee build up in the PVC pipe? What about mosquitoes? Do they get in the water and lay their eggs?
Can you update this to let us know how it did in the Winter? Was the bulb under the cinder block enough to keep the water from freezing?
