Well, I live on a farm & the first thing I hear is my Bob White Quail they start whistling around 530 AM then my rooster kicks in. Then all the other wild birds follow. I never need an alarm clock here at the farm. Its a great place to be.I now have another flock of yard birds with some cockerels mixed in & there now starting to crow but haven't quite mastered their crow yet. Won't take long just need more practice.

We've been here recently but it's still worth a laugh or two.

Cockerels, including our boss banty, start at around 3.00am. Our banties roost behind the house and can usually hear him through an open window in the dressing room. If that fails, the neighbours across the road have a few. In fact, nearly all neighbours have them!

Sometimes the dogs add an accompaniment at a lower pitch.

Some nights, the big geckos call out every fifteen minutes or so from dusk onwards. That doesn't stop me from visiting the land of nod, though.

If I'm still asleep at 6.00am, I am awakened by the opening of the mom and pop shop across the road.

I'm happy with the noises. City noise doesn't appeal to me at all.

Did you get your entry system sorted out?

O sorry must of missed the other thread I've been busy here at 7L. I've got the system just need to hook it up. Thanks, for your response. I've been working on my nest boxes in one of my coops. Their getting close & I should of had the boxes installed before I hatched. But I didn't. I don't want the pullets to start laying their eggs on the ground & picking up bad habits. I should be finished today. Then I'll cull some more cocks. Got rid of 4 cocks but have a few more that need to go. I hate getting rid of them but that's life.
I have three chicken coops & have decided I'm gonna have one Roo in every coop.Guess, I'll have more alarm clocks shortly.

I either hear my cat scratching at the door to get out of the room 5-7am,or my mini pin`dog outside barking at the neighbors 3-8am.

I don't hear Jack crow until I open the back door. I suppose the neighbors do if their windows are open. I have heard him crow at 6am.Probably does it sooner. No snooze button on that guy he loves to keep going till his voice cracks.

Around a dozen bantam roosters all going off! My black-tailed Japanese starts, then the Nankins chime in. Then the Leghorn hen starts talking about laying her egg. The ducks and gander say their peace, and the doves in my office start cooing.
