Setting eggs July 23rd! Anyone else? If so, what kind?

So far I've got two Easter eggers from my moms hen. The roosters are a EE and one Cochin, should be cute. Then about twenty from my flock of Cochins. I also have 4 dark brahma hens so I could have a couple crosses.

So far 21 of the 22 look good! This will be my last batch of mixed color Cochins. They are so fun though, not knowing what you'll get!

I set some LO's on the 24th and SLB's the 27th so i am with you on this hatch. Have 3 others set the week before also so chance at lots of babys .Mine are shipped and it was hot so maybe not too many will hatch buit i am hoping some from 52 eggs!

Wow! That could be a lot of babies! Have you candled them yet?

Did candling some the last 3 days..they look good so far but all are brown eggs and most pretty dark so i rarely can see air cells but can see the dark form in there and the open area at the bottom. with the light right on it.

Had a small flashlight then bought a small candler but sadlynot much difference in brown eggs
.Think things are going ok Had one that had a dark area in center not top but may have been just the darkness of the shell in that area ,it might not be good. the rest i looked at looked good although they are all different dates to hatch so each one is a different size. I usually candle them all but to do so many would take forever .
Will really cull any clears or not developed ones at lockdown da y18>You can tell way better what you have and what is a dud then.

Had 3 leakers so far but none were the SLB's.
Guess i will candle the SLB's again tonite day 10 See what i have.
This middle of incubation is sort of boring,How are yours doing? Cranking along?

I really shouldn't have put more in the incubator lol. It is soooo hot here and our ac hasn't been working so I won't be surprised if this isn't a good hatch. Checked a couple Wednesday and they looked good. I am using my brinsea Eco but it doesn't have the humidity pump on it... I've just been putting water in it when it runs out. We'll see though. Ended up with 24 eggs.

Well at least it isnt winter...they can get up to 100 or so but not low..so if your air isnt working that might not be too bad for them... only for YOU!!.HOT

WE are due for storms tonite and tomorrow. Im getting nervous. about a power outage RIGHT at the end for 3 clutches of eggs!!Yikes...Just a few days to go....Drought all summer and now when my eggs are almost done... it HAS threaten to storm..Geez
Maybe it wll lt miss us.I have been a ball of nervous energy today because its lockdownAt keat got a lot of house work done!

Just found 3 more leakers!!! All in the back of the incubator
I dont know if its the area there or what. Thought it was a certain clutch but found 2 different breeds that had it Tiny hard egg looking raised dots NO smell.So 4 are not good so far and ithink but am not sure one of my Barred Rocks is clear too.And one EE
The shells are so darkcn tellfor sure so leave um.
.I havent thrown out any but 2 both leakers so far these others ihave in the bator still Worried they are ok inside but just have a problem ,I never hd a leaker before that i remember .

I can't see inside the three Easter eggers but the Cochin eggs are easy. I will throw out any clear ones tomorrow. I hatched almost all roosters last time and am having a hard time finding homes for 12 extra roosters.... Lol. Maybe I will get all hens this time. It's been 110 degrees here. Yuck. Ac is fixed at least. I have a broody in the coop but it is way too hot to let her keep any eggs.

Do you have three different incubators, or all in the same one? Mine go into lockdown on Saturday I think. Did the storm miss you? We need rain here. Lots of fires.
